I suspect it might have something to do with a number of recent software updates, but I'm not entirely sure and need help identifying what the cause might be.
I've tried soundflower instead of iShowU with the same result.Ĭan anyone please tell me what I'm missing? If it worked, you should now have iShowU AudioCapture under the Sound-Output panel. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling OBS and Discord, to no difference, and then uninstalled all of the relevant software etc and then installed older versions of each application/add-on etc but none of it worked. Since iShowU is open source and free, Im going to demonstrate the process using iShowU. I've tried everything I can think of, and followed the instructions of various OBS set-up and troubleshooting guides to no avail. Audio Set the exact input and output devices as in Discord. Add any audio tracks into your DAW and select the input (s) you're using. In Discord's audio settings, set the input to iShowU Audio Capture, and the output as your audio interface.

If you prefer a video to follow along to. In a Digital Audio Workstation (Garageband is free on Macs), select your audio interface as the Input device and 'Multi-Output Device' as your Output device. Have fun & profit My original source is this OBS forum post. Then, open Finder > Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup - you should see the application. It all worked fine up until that point and now OBS will not detect and record audio from Discord at all, no matter what I do to try and direct it to capture that source, and despite still recording other system sounds (such as music playing from iTunes). Use iShowU Audio Capture as you would a microphone in any recording program on your Mac.
Since February 2020 everything we usually use to stream and record our audio and video has been beset with issues. I would really appreciate any advice and assistance with solving this issue please.
